Play confidently alongside concert-pitch instruments with the Broadleys B♭ Pipe Chanter Reed. Designed for lower-pitched bagpipe setups operating approximately between 440 and 466 Hz, this reed helps pipers blend more naturally with orchestras, folk ensembles, brass bands, and other instruments.
Its clear tone, stable response, and comfortable airflow make it suitable for solo pipers and full pipe bands alike. Available in multiple strengths, the Broadleys B♭ reed allows players to select the resistance that best complements their chanter, playing style, and experience level.
For optimal balance and performance, pair this reed with the Broadleys B♭ Pipe Chanter or another compatible low-pitch chanter. Final pitch and response will depend on the chanter, reed strength, moisture, temperature, and individual setup.
